A funeral service is planned to in New York city for Heath Ledger, but it is expected to remain a private one, with no information given about the service to the press. As of now, the police have blocked the entrance to the funeral home so press could not stand near it. His family have arrived today in New York to attend the funeral. They also released messages in the death notices section of the West Australian which were printed today.

His mother wrote, “Our darling boy, special in so many ways to all of us. You knew you were so loved. You lived life with courage and daring and we are so grateful for the wonderful times we shared. We will be there for Matilda.”

Mary Kate finally spoke out about her friends death saying it was a “tragic loss” and her thoughts are with the family. The masseuse Diana Wolozin who found Ledger’s body in his room called the Olsen twin at least three times before finally calling the police. Wolozin said it was to ask for help, not really knowing what to do, before she finally called police to the scene. The police have said they will not be questioning Olsen in connection with the phone calls, however they are probing into the matter of the massage therapist practicing without a license.
