Aretha Franklin may be the “Queen of Soul” but she certainly did not feel the love from the Grammy Awards on Sunday night. Beyonce introduced the icon Tina Turner during the Grammy’s as “The Queen”. And while the rest of us watched the duet between Tina and Beyonce tapping our toes and planning to go out and buy our own silver catsuit, Aretha was shocked and offended by the intro.

She says in a statement, “I am not sure of whose toes I may have stepped on or whose ego I may have bruised between the Grammy writers and Beyoncé, however I dismissed it as a cheap shot for controversy. In addition to that, I thank the Grammys and the voting academy for my 20th Grammy and love to Beyoncé anyway.”
