Lindsay Lohan has never been a stranger to controversy in her life, growing up in the glare of Hollywood lights and being a tabloid headline for months on end. In her latest role Lindsay has chosen to re-create the last photo session Marylin Monroe did six weeks before she accidently overdosed on prescription drugs. The photos will be published in the spring fashion issue of New York magazine.

The original photographer for Marilyn’s shoot, Bert Stern, photographed Lindsay’s pictures. He captured the images on film, rather than digitally. From the looks of the pic below it helped capture the softer glow of of the icon’s old pictures. Lindsay said this was a once in a lifetime opportunity and despite having done “250 crunches the night before” she was comfortable undressing in front of the cameras.

When asked about the parallel between Heath Ledger’s life and Marilyn’s, Lindsay was quick to blame the industry they all work in, “They are both prime examples of what this industry can do to someone.” she says. Also commenting on whether or not she may one day meet the same fate, “I don’t know. I’m not them. But I sure as hell wouldn’t let it happen to me.” [source]
